We're in Asheville, North Carolina right now, on a little mini-vacation. We're actually staying in a small house about fifteen minutes outside Asheville's center. We've been wandering the city itself (lots of shops downtown, but the West side seems to be where the interesting action is), exploring the outlying areas (ridiculously scenic... and it's baby cow season! Yes!), and even acting like proper tourists from time to time (hit up Biltmore early this afternoon). I'll fill you in and unload my good camera once we're back at Newman HQ, but for now here's a sampling of what we're up to right NOW, courtesy of my phone.

YAY! You are near my hometown. I'm originally from about 45 mins from there in TN. What brings you to Asheville? We live in Mississippi now. Really miss the mountains!!!

Wow, you grew up in a BEAUTIFUL place, Crystal! We were in Asheville for my mom's birthday (see my latest post, part 2!), and loved it. Where in Mississippi are you now? Aaron and I were just reading about Jackson-- it's apparently just received a bunch of money for revitalization, and rents (for amazing, old, gorgeous houses) are super cheap. Here's to Southern hot-spots, new and old. :-)

It is beautiful! Miss it so much! But, hopefully we will get to visit this August for a couple of weeks. We currently live in Gulfport, MS right on the coast. While I miss the mountains I have to say this area is gorgeous. It was badly hit by Hurricane Katrina, but they have rebuilt nicely. Jackson is a couple of hours away from us, but I hope to visit soon. I believe they have a natural science museum that is suppose to be good for kids. I do love living in the south!
